USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) has announced an inflation adjustment to Premium Processing service fees. The new values are expected to come into effect from February 26, 2024.
Do you know what Premium Processing is?
Premium Process is a paid option to expedite the review of your visa or immigration process in the United States. By opting for Premium Processing, your application is treated with priority and the decision is made within 45 days, depending on the type of visa. With an extra fee, you get a faster response, making the process more streamlined.
The fees for this application will increase for certain visa forms (EB2NIW, Students, L, R, EB3, etc…). For instance:
∙ Form I-129, for nonimmigrant workers, will increase from $1,500 to $1,685 (H-2B/R-1 categories) and from $2,500 to $2,805 (other classifications).
∙ Form I-140, for immigrant workers, will be $2,500 to $2,805.
∙ Form I-539, from $1,750 to $1,965.

These adjustments reflect inflation from June 2021 to June 2023.
With these adjustments to Premium Processing fees, USCIS aims to maintain the efficiency and quality of services provided to visa and immigration applicants. While the increase in fees may pose an additional cost for some, it’s important to remember that Premium Processing remains a valuable option for those who want to speed up their processes and get a faster response.
If you’re considering this option, make sure you’re aware of the new values and plan accordingly. Still, the goal of USCIS is to ensure that all applicants receive high-quality and efficient service throughout the immigration process to the United States.
